Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Artist's Description

Image 1 of 2. Emerging cicada. Adult cicada emerging from its larval case (brown, centre left). The insect's head is at right. The pale blue-white structures are its wings, which have yet to unfold. It has three pairs of legs and a long proboscis. Cicadas usually inhabit trees, where females lay their eggs in the wood. The nymphs fall to the ground after hatching and bury underground to feed on juices from plant roots. They emerge as adults after a period of several years. Cicadas are best known for producing a loud sound by rubbing two membranes together, a process called stridulation. For an image of the same insect after its wings have opened, see Z295/242.
